Overall Review:
To lay my cards out, this coffee house is the reason I started this blog; as it is the reason I have gotten into coffee in the first place. After visiting this place a few times and getting comfy with the quality of coffee place produced. I was unable to drink the pod of instant coffee I had in my desk at work. With that longing for high quality coffee I started to look more into coffee and how I can improve the quality of coffee I make at work and at home.
This establishment sets itself apart by concreting itself as a coffee house, with its prime focus being high quality coffee. With it being a coffee house there is a strong variety of drinks available ranging from all the expected coffees (flat white, latte, americano). With a variety of soft and hard drinks being available too! This coffee house really establishes itself as the perfect example of what a cotswold cafe should aim to be. Everything they sell is locally sourced, with even the milk being sourced from Eastington Farm shop, just 0.6 miles away from each other. With it being in the heart of Eastington it acts as the perfect community hub for everyone in the local community and everyone visiting.
Shifting focus to the coffee, I cannot describe it other than smooth and the really well poured. I’ve spotted that all the coffee’s came with some great latte art; even the ones in the to-go cups that got covered up before served to customers. Which is a level of detail and dedication that is great to see from a coffee house.
The flat white had a smooth texture with a light and perfectly airy texture. With the coffee only having a slight heavy feeling due to me asking for whole milk. The warming toasted aroma of the coffee promoted the cosy feeling of the cafe.
Coffee overall had a good intensity with a smooth feel, and a perfectly airy feel of the milk.
Final Thoughts:
Overall the bean selection compliments the cafes cosy feeling. Making you feel at home and the building big windows letting in the Cotswold air. With it being located just close enough away from the motorway that is reasonable to pop in for a quick coffee. But far enough away that it disconnects itself from the business of the world allowing you to relax, and have a coffee.
